Character Name: Dororo
Species: Greninja (Pokemon)
Canon: Pokemon
Canon Point: Post X/Y, but she's really not involved in that
History:

• Started off as a froakie bred for competitive battle, being conditioned and prepped to be the best she can possibly be. This includes rigorous training and gearing her towards something greater than the simple hoards of pokemon she'd rip through.
• With her training complete, Dororo begins her career of competitive battling. Though obviously without a perfect win record, she's noted for putting everything she has into every fight.
• She and her trainer would join tournaments as well as watch league matches, with one match in particular changing the greninja's life for the better. The Kalos champion, Diantha, was featured in this battle. Dororo was awestruck by not just the trainer's and her pokemon's strength, but the grace and beauty displayed during the fight.
• Inspired by the actress' performance, the greninja decided that her upbringing would be wasted if all she did was focus on battling. She learned of Pokemon Contests and how popular they were in the Hoenn region, so she gathers her things and leaves competitive battling behind.
• Of course, it's not so easy starting fresh in a new region like that, which leaves Dororo falling back on one of her other talents: song. Imitating Diantha's stage presence with her own knack for giving tasks her all starts to earn her a following and a decent living.
• Dororo eventually gets to join her first set of contests, specializing in beauty, coolness and cleverness. It's a tricky transition from battling to contests, but she's determined to do her best no matter what.
• Her skills eventually have her winning first place in beauty, in part due to her singing abilities.
• The water-type's popularity skyrockets from there, where she makes a comfortable living traveling the region (and soon, the world!) performing on stage and taking part in contests when they arise.

Personality: As someone told since she was young that she'd accomplish great things, Dororo naturally developed a sense of pride. She's a pokemon of a high pedigree and she knows it! It's this mentality that lead her down her own path, one that she would decide for herself instead of her trainer. While she isn't above battling, Dororo is the kind of pokemon who needs more pizzazz in her life. After all, if she's as good as she was brought to believe, why should she be limited to just one area of Pokemon exhibitionism?

Diantha, the champion of Kalos, serves as Dororo's role model for this purpose. Through her, the greninja learned how possible it is to carry yourself with beauty and grace, even in a battle. It's with this mentality that leaves her doing to do everything with some flair, rarely settling for more mundane approaches. Just battling, for example, could only demonstrate so many of her own abilities. This does have its downsides, as she'll often try to add more extravagance where it's really not needed.

While it's slightly misguided, this does highlight Dororo's most dominant trait: giving her everything when doing anything. While this was initially meant for her battling career, Dororo took it to heart and included it in everything else. She's a passionate Pokemon who believes holding back is an insult. And even if her best isn't good enough to accomplish a task, she can still walk away from it with her head up high knowing that her loss isn't due to any form of restraint. Even her natural ability, Protean, reflects this fact, as it can change a Pokemon's type to ensure each attack they perform will do the most damage it can. That applies to Dororo perfectly, as she believes there are few, if any, tasks that really benefit from not giving them your all.

With all of this in mind, it'd be easy to write her off as a haughty uptown girl who might easily write someone or something off as beneath her. Thankfully, this is far from the truth. Dororo didn't start off winning contests and having fans praise her every movement. She got her start from a rather strict plan to shape her into a fighter. She had her ups and downs, fell into the mud, walked away with bruises and defeats, overall finding herself humbled whenever her ego grew too large. It still inflates now and then, but not so much that she'll disregard the efforts of others. Passion matters more to her than any social status, so she'll find herself drawn more to that aspect.

Abilities, Powers, Afflictions:

Water-type: As a frog and a water-type, it makes sense that Dororo is adept at handling this element. She has no trouble swimming and even breathing underwater thanks to this. She's also familiar with manipulating the element itself, including compressing water into shuriken shapes sharp enough to cut through metal (water shuriken).

Dark-type: Here lies the other half of Dororo's innate abilities as a greninja. Dark-type moves often focus on more clever, stealthy or sometimes underhanded tactics, everything that befits a ninja. This can include waiting for the opportune moment to strike an enemy to ensure it'll do the most damage possible (Night Slash).

Ability: Protean This ability allows a Pokemon to change its type to match whatever kind of attack it's launching, ensuring the attack gets a boost in its power. This is limited by the owner's range in types, so if they don't know any fire attacks, for example, this skill cannot be used to shift into a fire-type. It's not a permanent change, of course; after some time (after battles in canon), she'll revert back to her original water/dark typing.

Song: While this skill doesn't necessarily have any use in battle, it should be noted that Dororo is a talented performer, which include song and the occasional dance. She's learned to have a stage presence and is perfectly comfortable having the spotlight focused on her, whether this includes singing or battling.

Path Preference:

Devoted: Though she doesn't specially focus on religion, Dororo is one who supports going through with what you believe in. It was her belief that she was meant for more than battling that lead her to a lifestyle she's happy with. Plus, as someone who hopes to inspire others to aim high as Diantha once did for her, it's only natural that she'd work towards lifting as many spirits as possible, even if it includes performances.

Chivalry: Despite her time being split between her standard training and aiming for a celebrity status, Dororo is still a capable fighter. Like when leaving the military, there are just some traits that you don't leave behind and for her, that means battling. She won't hesitate to fight if she really needs to, even if it means dirtying up her newest outfit. Clothes are replaceable; people aren't.

Just note that she'll likely make a show of her combat prowess, if at all possible.
Element Preference:

Water: An obvious choice for the water-type Pokemon. Water is her primary element and she knows full well how to manipulate it. Water is also an element associated with art, something Dororo resonates with as someone who both competes in contests and sings for audiences.

Wind: Representing unpredictability and free spirits, wind feels appropriate for the Pokemon who left behind what she was born into to pursue what she wanted. She can waver back and forth between battling and performing, but when she does so, it's through her own will rather than someone else's.

Fire: An ironic choice for one so strongly associated with water, especially with dark as her secondary typing. More important to her than stealthy approaches is a firey passion she pours into everything she does and a respect for similar passion demonstrated by others. Fire can dance and entrance as strongly as it can burn, after all.

Anima Creature Description: A bat-like creature predominantly white in color with blue highlights. It has separate limbs designed for grabbing and climbing, a feature largely used to cling to its owner, Dororo. It sports a large wingspan for its size, which can carry those it clings to and fly through the air with them provided they're light enough. Though its body can digest fruits and small insects like most bats, this one is unique its main diet consisting of sound. One can usually tell this creature is around if an area is eerily silent. Feeding on sound doesn't prevent its source from creating it; it only absorbs the sound so long as it's not gorging itself. It enjoys feeding off of Dororo's singing, giving the frog another excuse to demonstrate her skills (as if she needs another reason).

Egg: A crystalline egg about the size of a brooch. It sometimes vibrates in rhythm with certain sounds and weakly echoes them back.

Hatchling: The bat starts off rather tiny, no bigger than the egg that housed it. Its wings can hover for short periods of time, but cannot fly for long and it certainly can't pick up its Scion. It will primarily cling to her arm or rest atop her head for this stage.

Juvenile: Independent flight becomes possible at this age as its wings are more developed. It'll start squeaking and screeching more to imitate its Scion's singing, but it cannot feed off of its own voice. It can carry its owner or people of similar weight over short distances.

Adult: Fully grown, the bat will only be able half the greninja's size (so somewhere around 2-3 feet). However, its wings are strong enough to be able to lift Dororo and carry her through the air with little trouble. Heavier individuals will take considerably more effort and even then, it can only carry them for short distances.

Anima Traits:

• Shy. This little bat doesn't do a whole lot of chatting with others, so she'll usually leave that to Dororo. It's also part of the reason why she clings to her Scion most of the time.
• Meticulous. Being small and having small little paws leave her capable of poking out tiny details for things like plucking lint out of fabrics one at a time.
• Creative. A little imagination can take one as far as any set of wings, so this particular anima likes expressing itself however it can, whether it be through doodles or attempts at song. It's not particularly great at singing, but it's the thought that counts.
• Determined. Like her Scion, this little anima tries her best in whatever she does, even if she's not great at it. Especially if she's not great at it.

RP Sample:

Suddenly finding yourself in a new world can certainly have its perils. For ones who regularly bask in fame, they'll surely find something missing on arrival. Such is the case for a peculiar looking blue frog who glances between the surrounding area and the small, diamond-like item in her hand. Fortunately, she's familiar with working towards something from the ground up and doing so again wouldn't be a total catastrophe.

On the other hand, she does have to start all over again and this place is no Lilycove city. It's not bad for what it is, but there's gonna be an adjustment period. She shrugs and climbs atop one of the houses for a better view of the city. Even if it'll be more difficult, it sure as Hell isn't her first adjustment period. She got to where she is today by toughing it out!

"It does have a nice view..." She admits to herself.

"It does have a nice view..." The greninja pauses as she hears her voice echoed back at her, glancing down at the shimmering stone that seems to be the source of the echo.

"Really?"

"Really?" It responds back. The greninja rubs her chin in thought before an idea strikes her. Dororo hops onto her feet, clearing her throat as she prepares a song. It's one that absolutely takes advantage of the echoing stone and grabs the attention of those passing by. If nothing else, she's still able to attract a crowd in this world.

That's as good a start as any.
